Seasons of Country Art Competition

As part of Wood’s commitment to Reconciliation in Australia, we are educating our employees on Indigenous culture.

Wood would like to invite Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists to submit pieces of their own original artworks inspired by and representing the local Indigenous weather seasons of Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne.
Submitted artworks can be a single piece or multiple pieces depicting the seasons but will only be considered one submission.
There is a limit of one submission per artist.
The artwork will be exhibited at the relevant local office.
During a 2 week period, the employees of the local offices will vote on the artworks.
We encourage all styles of art but will only be able to accept physical artworks (for exhibition purposes)
Winners will receive a $5,000 monetary award.

Artworks submission period will be between 9am Monday March 25, 2024 – 5pm, Monday April 29, 2024.
Artworks submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.

Winners will be announced on Tuesday 28 June 2024 at National Reconciliation Week events to be held at the relevant Wood office.

Artists must be available to attend the announcement event in person to receive the competition winnings and consent to a picture of them and their art being taken for Wood publicity.

For the remainder of National Reconciliation Week, the artwork will be exhibited in the lobbies of Wood offices. For artwork that is not purchased by Wood, artists have the option to make their artworks available for sale. Art that is not available for sale, will be returned to the artist at the end of the week. For artists who choose to sell their artwork, exhibiting the artwork in the lobby of Wood’s offices will provide the artist with the opportunity to sell their artwork and gain exposure to, a wider audience.
