Sustainable Agriculture Program Officer

Reports to: Program Manager - RegenWA

Works closely with:

• Senior Manager, Sustainable Agriculture

• Sustainable Agriculture Team

Position Purpose

The Sustainable Agriculture Program Officer coordinates a range of activities centred around supporting the Perth NRM Sustainable Agriculture and RegenWA teams' communication requirements. Communications are aimed at improving the ecological and sustainable values through the adoption of regenerative agriculture practices and natural capital management on farms and small land holdings. The role requires a high level of organisational skills for undertaking events, extension activities, communication tasks, resource production and project evaluation. 

Duties and Accountabilities

• Manage media across all platforms for the Sustainable Agriculture and RegenWA programs, including engagement, monitoring, and evaluating performance.

• Create content for day-to-day media engagement and ensure that content is stored and correctly maintained

• Assist with design and reviewing of reports and marketing materials.

• Support community and farmer engagement activities including event promotion, survey collection, and analysis.

• Assist with field work including natural capital farm assessments (may include some overnight travel).

• Actively participate in Perth NRM staff and team meetings.

• Comply with WHS regulations and suggest actions to mitigate risks.

• Understand and comply with Perth NRM policies and procedures.
